Cathy Dowling is a psychodynamic psychotherapist, Group Analyst and Supervisor with over 25years experience of working therapeutically with individuals, young adults and groups. Becoming more ourselves through therapy, learning more of who we are and our psychological’ mental health and vulnerabilities underpins  the relational space of the therapy offered by Cathy. Finding the words for our experience allows as Seamus Heaney says ‘a way to be found’. Exploring our defences, and the influence of attachment and separation styles can help in understanding our relationship with ourselves , family and others and the difficulties that occur and often repeat within these relationships. Becoming curious about the discrepancy between what we think we want and what we do can enable a more authentic way of being and relating.

Cathy works with a range of presenting issues for example, anxiety, low mood, dissatisfaction with life and relationships and the unhelpful and destructive behaviours that can emerge with these feelings.

Cathy offers supervision to professionals individually and in group from a group analytic and psychodynamic perspective.
